Essential Tools for Video Creators

Essential Tools for Creators: What I Use to Streamline My Content Process

I’m not here to give you a leg up, but if you’re diving into content creation and want a more streamlined process, here’s the scoop on some of the tools I use daily to make things run smoother.

1. Creative Software and Licensing: Element.Envato and Sound Libraries

If you’re looking to get creative with visual effects or elevate your videos, Element.Envato is a go-to. You can download tons of assets—music, sound effects, and graphics that instantly enhance your content. Speaking of sound, for high-quality tracks and effects, I rely on Epidemic Sound, Artlist, and Soundly. Soundly, in particular, is a game-changer—it’s an app on your computer that lets you drag and drop sound effects straight into your editing software, saving you loads of time.

2. Collaboration and Review: Frame.io and Dropbox

For managing feedback and revisions, Frame.io is a must. It allows clients to review their videos, make notes, and communicate changes directly on the platform. We use Dropbox to store all our content. It’s where my team accesses raw footage, edits projects, and shares the final product with clients. Everything is organized, easy to access, and secure, keeping our workflow smooth.

3. Project Management and CRM: Asana, HoneyBook, and VidProject.io

Project management is crucial, and we use Asana for task tracking and project timelines. HoneyBook acts as our CRM, managing client relationships, invoices, and contracts all in one place. For all our projects, we use my custom portal, VidProject.io, which keeps everything in one organized spot and helps manage client communication effectively.

4. Design and Editing: Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

When it comes to designing visuals and graphics, we mix things up with Canva and Adobe Illustrator Suite. Canva is great for quick, professional designs, while Adobe offers the power and flexibility for more complex projects. But be warned—these costs add up quickly, especially when you’re using multiple tools.

5. The Bigger Picture: DIY or Delegate?

These tools are just the tip of the iceberg. They’re essential if you’re serious about building a personal brand and managing your content effectively. But here’s the real talk—doing it all on your own isn’t easy. If you’re ready to streamline your process or learn how to maximize these tools, book a call with me. I’ve spent years refining this craft, and I’m here to help you elevate your content game.
